Information on AAAHC:
Wilshire Aesthetics is proud to announce that we have again completed our survey process with both Medicare and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
As a surgical center, having a complete operating room & fully qualified staff, Wilshire Aesthetics is extremely proud to be in compliance with highest standards possible, those of Medicare Certification. In addition, we have also met the stringent standards the AAAHC requires of its members.
The AAAHC is a private, not-for-profit organization that was formed in 1979 to assist ambulatory health care organizations in improving the quality of care provided to their patients. It accomplishes this by setting standards, measuring performance, and providing consultation and education where needed. Accreditation is ultimately awarded to those organizations that are found to be in compliance with AAAHC standards.
Accreditation is a voluntary process through which an ambulatory health care organization is able to measure the quality of its services and performance against nationally recognized standards. The accreditation process involves self-assessment by the organization, as well as through review by AAAHC's expert surveyors, who are themselves practicing health care professionals.
The accreditation certificate is a symbol to others that an organization is committed to providing high-quality care and that it has demonstrated its commitment by measuring up to AAAHC's high standards. The real value of accreditation, however, lies in the consultative and educational process that precedes the awarding of the certificate. It is this self-analysis, peer review, and consultation that ultimately helps an organization improve its care and services.
Before accreditation is awarded, an organization participates in a thorough multi-step evaluation process. The basic elements of the process include a self-assessment, completed by the organization itself, and an on-site survey. AAAHC surveys are conducted by physicians, nurses, dentists and other health care professionals who have hands-on experience in organizations similar to those seeking AAAHC accreditation. We at Wilshire Aesthetics believe in promoting high-quality ambulatory health care.
Upon completion of our survey process, it was the decision of the AAAHC to certify our facility of an additional 3 years! This is the maximum amount of time for certification, before another survey and accreditation process must take place. This is due to the fact that our surveyor found our facility to be fully compliant in all areas. Wilshire Aesthetics takes pride in sharing this information with you.
Press Release:
Wilshire Aesthetics Achieves National Accreditation
Wilshire Aesthetics has achieved accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), according to Michelle Wegner, Manager of Operations, Surgical Dept.
Status as an accreditation organization means Wilshire Aesthetics has passed a series of rigorous and nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by the AAAHC. Over 1,300 ambulatory health care organizations across the United States are accredited by the AAAHC.
"Accreditation underscores our long-standing commitment to providing the highest possible levels of quality care to the community we serve," said Michelle Wegner. "We are pleased and proud to have our efforts recognized with this accreditation."
Ambulatory health care organizations seeking accreditation by AAAHC undergo an extensive on-site, peer-based survey of its facilities and services. Not all ambulatory health care organizations seek accreditation; not all undergoing the on-site survey are granted accreditation.
Among the types of ambulatory health care organizations that can seek AAAHC accreditation are ambulatory and office based surgery centers; single and multi-specialty group practices; college and university health services; dental group practices; community health centers; occupational health centers; and managed care organizations.
