Michael Bontekoe, MS, PA-C is a Nationally Board Certified Physician Assistant. He completed his medical degree at Central Michigan University where he also received his Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Rehabilitation. He was awarded a Graduate Assistantship at Central Michigan University where he taught Human Gross Anatomy for three consecutive years.
Michael Bontekoe has practiced in Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease and was credentialed an HIV Specialist in 2002 by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. He is credentialed by AIDS Healthcare Foundation and specializes in HIV associated dermatological diseases. He is also credentialed in Surgery from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and did his surgery training at Cedar Sinai Medical Center.
He is an Associate Member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Member of Dermatology Physician Assistants. He has served on the medical advisory board of the Dermatology Division of Allergan Pharmaceuticals. He has also appeared on television series such as The Learning Channel’s “Ten Years Younger demonstrating laser procedures on aging skin.
Michael Bontekoe practices medical and cosmetic dermatology. He joined Wilshire Aesthetics Medical Associates 7 years ago. He manages patients with a wide range of dermatological diseases including, acne, moles, eczema, warts, sexually transmitted diseases, viral and bacterial skin infections, pre-cancers and skin cancers. He performs simple and complex surgical excisions, biopsies, cryosurgery and electrodestruction procedures. In addition to medical dermatology, he performs the latest techniques in Botox and facial fillers to soften wrinkles.
He is the director of the laser department and uses the Aurora (IPL/RF) for photofacials, Polaris WR for skin firming and pore reduction, Photodynamic Therapy for facial acne and pre-cancers, Lightsheer Diode for laser hair removal and the Naturalase Fractional Erbium laser for skin resurfacing.
